As first responders continue to serve the Town of Clayton, it’s important that the Clayton Fire Department remains properly equipped to handle all emergencies. Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation® recognized the need for new lifesaving equipment and recently awarded a nearly $43,000 grant to purchase Paratech Rescue Equipment, including six extensions, six struts, 22 bases, and two strut kits.
The new Paratech rescue equipment will enhance the department’s ability to stabilize and lift heavy loads in high-risk situations like rail incidents, vehicle crashes, industrial accidents, and other complex rescues. Fire Chief David Ranes shared this specialized equipment is critical for supporting rapid and effective response to some of the most challenging and dangerous emergencies where precision and reliability can make the difference between life and death.
“We are grateful to the Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs® in Clayton for providing us with this invaluable funding,” said Ranes. “The added benefit of having the very best equipment on hand means everything in an emergency when every second counts.”
As the contracted technical rescue provider for Johnston County, the Clayton Fire Department will use this equipment to bolster emergency response capabilities across the region. The update was presented during a Town Council meeting on Monday, April 21.
“This fully funded grant requires no cost share from the Town,” Ranes added. “We’re proud to have an ongoing relationship with the Foundation, and we’re incredibly thankful for their continued support of our mission to protect life and property.”
For the past 19 years, charitable donations have been the driving force behind Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation supporting first responders and public safety organizations nationwide.
